The helicopter will drop well over a thousand balls over Les Boyd Oval. The closest ball to the pin will win the big prize. The next ten balls will win $100 each.
Tickets (balls) costing $20 each are available from E'Clairs coffee shop or Camera Art.
Organisers of Sunday's helicopter ball drop to support the Cootamundra Rugby League Football Club are hoping there'll be close to the maximum of 2000 balls dropped from the chopper onto Les Boyd Oval on Sunday.
Club secretary Lisa Crick said numbers had been on sale throughout the season, and the club had already covered its costs, but it's expecting more people will buy this week for quite good odds to win $10,000.
The club held a similar fund raiser in 2017, which was so successful it decided to give it another go this year.
In 2017 the balls were small footballs made from foam, but this year they went for golf balls and the responsibility for numbering the balls fell to Ms Crick, who spent quite a lot of time last weekend at the unenviable task, taking great care not to repeat a number.
The ball drop will take place between the reserve grade and first grade games on Sunday.
The exact times haven't been confirmed but it's expected reserve grade will take up to 1.30 and the helicopter will land on the field and be stocked after that, with the drop taking place at 2pm.
The helicopter from Hughes Helicopter of Goulburn will land on a cross marked on the field, and be loaded with balls by the club.
It will then hover over the field above a peg in the middle of that cross and wherever they land will be in the lap of the gods - maybe your ball will be the closest.
"We've been selling all season and basically covered our costs, but we'd like to sell more of course as this is meant to be making money for the club," Ms Crick said.
"We're having a final push to bump up the numbers so we can make a healthy profit."
