Jeff and Steve shot out to a substantial 18-6 lead and were never headed.
The pair went on to record a 21-13 win to progress to the next round of the competition.
SOCIAL BOWLS
Social bowls on Wednesday, August 7, saw three triples games played, with the pick of the bunch Jason Jones, Paul Cockram and Rod (Pickles) Bradley who had to fight all the way in their 17-16 win over Terry Cosgrove, Mick Andrews, and Peter Hoang.
Mark Devere, Ned Kelly, and Ron Johnson played Ginger O'Brien, Greg (Grumpy) Fisher and Geoff Hillier where they were 9 all after 13 ends.
However, Ginger, Grumpy and Geoff were no match for their opponents who won 9 of the remaining 11 ends with some great bowls from Ron and Co. to record a 23-16 win.
In the third match, Keith Hampton, Rocky Ford, and Pat O'Brien outplayed Oscar Lopez, John Huntington and Don (The Duck) O'Neill winning 25-11.
Ladies bowls
The Cootamundra Ex-Services' Ladies Bowling Club has returned to Saturday morning bowls commencing at 10am.
SOCIAL BOWLS
On Wednesday, August 7, members had two pairs games with fill in, Ned Kelly, combining with Lynn Fisher for a very close 18-17 loss to Lee Bristow and Freda Hambrook. Meanwhile, Bev Black, Monica Kelly-Hunt and Rhonda Nolan won 11 of the 14 ends when they took to the green against Margaret Cosgrove, Sara Lopez and Joan Cummins for a comfortable win.
