The parade, starting at midday, will have a good variety of floats including two RFS units, the South West Slopes Credit Union, Sacred Heart Central School, the Garden Club, the Hospital Auximilary and Cootamundra Scouts, with more expected during the next week.

The Wattle Time Fair will begin at 9am at Fisher Park and has 20 market stalls so far, as well as musicians and rides, though organisers have put out a call for more local small businesses to set up stalls.

Cootamundra Development Corporation (CDC) chair Janet McAtear said running a stall was a good way for businesses to "get their name out there".

"Even if you only break even on the day, if you hand out 50 business cards you'll get more sales over the next six months," she said.

Food stalls already booked up include pancakes, doughtnuts and coffee, ice cream, a barbecue, wood fired pizzas and hot dogs, while other merchandise on the day will include gardening, furnishings, jewelry, nuts, clothing, Tupperware, clothing, women's fashion and spices.

The charge for a single site (4 x 3 metres) is $75, with a second adjacent site available for a further $50.

The Town Band will play early in the day (before a Canberra engagement), music will be provided by Brian Nolan and other buskers, and there'll be Tai Chi demonstrations, a jumping castle, a Scout climbing wall and other rides. Any buskers who would like to set up in the park are welcome.

It will be a busy weekend in Coota with the annual Fathers Day Swap Meet on the following day, Sunday September 1, at the Showground, starting at 6am.

The 7^th Light Horse will have eight horses parading as well as marchers in WWI nurses and infantry uniforms.
