Despite a late rally by Peter and Kevin, the pairs title was comfortably claimed by Ron and Brad, 27 shots to 16 shots.
BIRTHDAY BOWLS
In trying conditions on Saturday, September 7, 30 players attended Arthur Ward's 93rd birthday bowls day.
In a triples format with two games of 10 ends, it was the team of Jan Roberts, Pat Francis and Ronaldo Rosengreen that won the day winning 14 ends and 1 bonus point to finish on 25 points.
Everyone that participated enjoyed the afternoon including a team from Wagga Rules and Young travelling across to join "Arty" on this momentous occasion.
During the presentations, Arthur made special mention of the great friendships he has made over the many years of playing bowls across the district.
To have a bowls member, as well as a committee member, at the age of 93 years is credit to Arthur's dedication to the Cootamundra Country Club.
Arthur often plays bowls socially at every opportunity he has and is also at the club every Tuesday night to run and play indoor bowls.
He is also on hand to sell raffle tickets for the club's Friday night draw and is known to tell a joke or two over the microphone while selling tickets.
Congratulations Arthur you are a true Legend.
