Jason Jones and Henry Wilson played their second Minor Singles round on Saturday, with Henry holding his own for a while but Jason found his range leading 22-11 after 15 ends. He went on to win 31-16 and now plays Rodney Ball in the next round.

Seven teams entered the Club Fours played over Saturday and Sunday. The final combatants were Henry Wilson, Graeme Snape, Graeme Dennis and skip Jim Deacon. Their opposition was Nigel Buttriss, Geoff Manwaring, Pat O'Brien and their Skip was Mick Willis. Team Deacon started well to lead 8-2 early but team Willis fought back and piled on 23 shots in the next 10 ends to hold a handy 25-10 lead with six ends to play. Team Deacon mounted a late challenge but the margin was too large and they ran out of ends, with team Willis going on to defeat team Deacon 26-20 and claim the Fours title.
Wednesday, September 11 saw two games of social pairs and three triples games. Rob Hillier and Wally Chater were too good for Roger Goode and John Huntington recording an easy win. While Tony Curtis and Geoff Hillier coasted home to defeat Mick Andrews and Jason Jones comfortably. Oscar Lopez, Don O'Neil and Pat O'Brien defeated Jeff Withers, Ned Kelly and Ron Johnson in a close encounter 19-12. Paul Cockram, Rocky Ford and Rod Bradley defeated Peter Hoang, Mark Devere and Jeff Cook 20-12, while Wayne Watmore, Keith Hampton and Mick Barber were too good for Ginger O'Brien, Craig Jordan and Jim White recording a comfortable win.
Friday, September 13 saw two games of pairs and triples. The match of the day was a triples game between Keith Hampton, Jason Jones and Mike Barber, with their opponents being Peter Hoang, playing lead, with Henry helping, Paul Cockram and Geoff Hillier. In the early part of the game, team Barber lead 15-9 but by end 16, team Hillier had claimed a handy 20-15 lead. Team Barber found its focus and won three of the next four ends to level the score at 27 all with one end to play. The winning shot was a measure to have team Barber collect the sausages 28-27. Paul Cockram's son Ashley Cooper combined with Rocky Ford and Jim White to defeat Mick Andrews, Craig Jordan and Rod Bradley 25-12, while in the pairs games Oscar Lopez and Jeff Cook were too good for Kye Fisher and Grumpy Fisher 20-15, and in the final game, Ned Kelly and Rob Hillier outplayed Ginger O'Brien and Don O'Neil.

COUNTRY CLUB WOMEN
Our annual President's Day was held last Thursday and was a great success. Three teams attended from other districts, as well as 11 teams from the South Western District - a total of 42 players. Grenfell's Alison Cutcliffe, Sandra Paine and Kathryn Betcher won the day, with the Ex-Services No 1 team the runners-up.
Two more matches of the Club Triples Championships were played. Jan Roberts, Pat Francis and Mona Perry were too good for Betty Cleveland, Neta Manwaring and Marsha Phillips. The other game saw Diana Buchanan, Viv Christie and Jenny Blundell win against Jan Slavin, Ellenor Armstrong and Donna Wade.
The popular Crazy Whist will be held tomorrow at 2.30pm - all welcome.
