A total of 14 teams took part on this occasion. Geoff Holt led the South West District side as Cliff Traynor was ill.
When the two games had been played the team from Boorowa Recreation Club had the best score with 29.5 points, and a countback was needed to decide second place.
The Country Club no. 2 team, consisting of P. Rasmussen, AE. Ward, W. Manwaring and R. Johnson, was successful having won more ends than the district president`s team, P. Hewson, M. Brankovic, J. Cooper and G. Holt.
The Country Club mixed pairs competition is dragging. But one more game has been played and it found Neta and Don Manwaring back in the winning circle as a result of their 19-16 win over last year's champs, Pat Francis and Adam Hutchinson.
Social games for the week: N. Stubbs, and G. Davidson defeated R. Cleveland and R. Johnson 25-11.
K.Ryan and R. Cleveland had a solid finish to defeat G. Bottrall and G. Davidson (28-25) for 17 points.
Winners for the day were A.Ward, C. Willis and J. Malone with 19 points from their 25-11 victory over A. Cooper, C. Miller and R. Johnson. Raffle winner was G. Davidson.
Bowlers are being reminded that the committee decided to return to Friday afternoon games with a 1pm start and the Bëat the Heat game, 9.30 start, will start Melbourne Cup Day.
