Koby Godbier (29) and Lachlan Webb (32) lead the run chase at the top of the order for Cockatoos putting on an opening partnership of 68 before Webb was dismissed.
Godbier went a short time later with the score on 75 before Blake Sloan proved a steadying influence finishing 18 not out.
Sam Nassar (6) and Michael Perry (6 not out) helped Cockatoos reach the target with plenty of deliveries in hand.
Earlier in the day Young struggled to 102 after a top order collapse which saw the visitors struggling at 3-19.
Openers Daniel Smith (5) and Tyler Hurcum (0) fell cheaply to the bowling of Ethan Shepherd (1-3) and Jed Guthrie (2-11).
Jack Apps was run out for just two by Lachlan Webb before a middle order fightback from E Birls (25) and the day's top scorer Declan Hurcum (42).
In a swashbuckling innings Hurcum's 42 runs came from just 35 balls faced and included four boundaries.
For Cockatoos early wicket takers Guthrie and Shepherd received support from Koby Godbier 1-8, James Paterson 1-16 and Michael Perry 1-13.
Cootamundra's other under 16 side, the Kookaburra's were defeated by Ariah Park Royals at Nixon Park after setting Ariah Park a target of 117 which they reached off 19 overs finishing 2-120. No other details of the match were available.
