Richard did so enjoy catch-up time with old work colleagues and friends when he attended the public school fete last Saturday.

Richard and Jill now reside in the Wollongong area, Jill working part-time as a school counsellor and Richard in the area of pastoral care.

Shirley Rushton of Wattle Grove had the best time last Saturday, when many of her family members gathered at the Village Centre.

It had been a long time since she had seen so many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were present with their parents.

Some travelled from Melbourne, Kiama, Canberra and Albury to make the get-together complete.

The monthly meeting of the Cootamundra CWA will take place on Thursday next, November 14 in the Stephen Ward rooms, starting 10am.

Any ladies interested are most welcome to come along to the meeting and enjoy morning tea.

The guest speaker will demonstrate a variety of Christmas decorations to make.

Well done to the ladies who organised the Melbourne Cup luncheon held at the Country Club.

A marvelous outing, fun and games for those present - so many prizes on offer. Congratulations to lucky lady Lyn Eccelston, who won the first-class raffle which the ladies had been selling tickets for some time prior to the day.

Next Friday, November 15 a program under the heading of Tech Savvy Seniors will take place at Cootamundra Library.

This informative gathering will provide seniors with the opportunity to learn how to use and operate computers, tablets and smartphones. Give the girls a phone call (6940 2200) to book a spot - just bring your own device.

It was a most informative morning when the gathering Women on Council information session took place last weekend.

There were many present including the group pictured on this page - from left Maryanne Saliba (Shellharbour mayor), Annie Jacobs, Leigh Bowden, Marianne McInerney, Greetje Sargent, Jenny Beath, Susan Gheller, Cassandra Coleman (Lithgow), Janet McAtear, Penny Nicholson (Gundagai) and Mel Wiggins.

I was most enlightened on many aspects of local council but am too busy to put my name forward at the next election.

The Lions Club Christmas Fair is set to take place on Saturday, December 7. Starting late afternoon at Fisher Park with the usual "fun of the fair" rides, stalls, face-painting and barbecue. Early evening, the thrilling fireworks display will culminate a great Christmas outing for all to enjoy.

Again, this weekend in town is shaping up to be big.

A class reunion - which Peter Coggan commented has moved on to be inclusive of any former or local Cootamundra residents wanting to join in - is taking place tomorrow at noon in the top room at the Country Club, with about 60 guests expected.

It's certainly bringing back to town names one will remember - Peter Coggan, Janet (nee Coggan) Alexander, Chris and Annabelle Lord, Patricia Callaghan, Krysanthy Theodore, Neil Pether, Murray Scott, Garry McCoullough, Heddy Harton, Errol and Jenny Freeman, Trevor and Judy Williams and so the list goes on.

An early bird meet and greet will take place this evening at the Country Club starting at 5pm.

Then, at the rodeo grounds, the Southern Cross Cutting Club is hosting a top notch three-day event with competitors travelling from far and wide to compete. Some of the best horse riders and horses will be here from Victoria and NSW.

A feature about 5pm tomorrow (now this is not to be missed) is the celebrity cutting calcutta event with well-known locals including Kaidee Thorn, Billy Mullins, Steve Oddy, Tristan Philips, Paige Louttit, Tom Kelly (from Newhaven Park stud), Lisa Hines, Heath Bowden and 88-year-old cowboy legend Bobby Holder.
