Jason Jones and Terry Smith took to the green for the final of the 2019 Club Minor Singles, and with both players keen for the title, a close game was on the cards.

In the early stages, the game was there for both to claim, with the score 13-10 in Terry's favour after 12 ends. Terry continued to pressure Jason and jumped to a 21-14 lead, but Jason fought back, levelling the score at 29-all. However, there can only be one winner and Terry Smith went on to collect the Minor Singles title 31-29.
Thirty bowlers took part in a novel three-bowl, three-player pairs tournament, in a 9x5 end format where each player on each team must play at least two ends per game. The event was taken out by Ginger O'Brien, Roger Goode and Mick Barber on seven wins +24, with Bob (Frosty) Winter, Craig Jordan and Bob New in second with seven wins +22 and third Bill Cosgrove, Wally Chater and Jim White with a score of six wins +22.
The hundred club was won by Roger Goode, with second prize going to Kerry Blackett.
On Wednesday November 6 Rob Hillier, Don (Duck) and Pickles Bradley were too good for Paul Cockram, Ned Kelly and Geoff Hiller 28-15. Ginger O'Brien and Graeme Dennis collected the sausages with a 26-22 win against Oscar Lopez and Jason Jones, while Bob (Frosty) Winter and Geoff (Bloopy) Manwaring out-played Mark Devere and Keith Hampton.
Country Club Ladies
Thursday November 7, eight ladies played two games of three-bowl pairs.
Jan Slavin and Marsha Phillips had a well-fought out draw with Betty Cleveland and Neta Manwaring while Diana Buchanan and Jenny Blundell took the win over Jan Roberts and Ellenor Armstrong.
Thursday, November 14 is our monthly Queen of the Green event followed by a meeting at 1pm.
The following Thursday, November 21 is our last Crazy Whist day for the year. All welcome for 2.30pm.
The CCC Lady Bowlers meet each Thursday at 8.30am for a 9am start and anyone interested in playing bowls will be made most welcome.
No experience necessary and bowls are available. Cost is $8.
