Desk has heritage value
A desk used by customers at the Bank of NSW in Stockinbingal until it closed in 1974 has been bought by Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council at the request of the Heritage Room at Ellwood's Hall.

The council paid $600 to local resident Rai Webber, who would otherwise have sold it privately.
The 1.7-metre desk has two sloping sides and a narrow flat section for ink wells.
It's believed it was used to fill out banking forms.
In the Heritage Room it will be used to display historical material.
