Yesterday morning's NSW Trainlink coach service to Canberra had only three passengers from Wagga when it pulled into Cootamundra station - and only one Coota passenger was waiting to climb on board.

Cootamundra's Robin Collis uses the service to visit son Tim and family in Canberra and says there are generally a few other passengers.
The service has been on trial since April - and although the six months initial period of the trial has passed there's been no announcement from NSW Trainlink that it will be permanent.
"It's an excellent service, very comfortable and I hope we never lose it because it's awesome," said Mrs Collis.
"If you just want to do a day's shopping you've got about five hours until it turns around - and it also stops at the hospital."
NSW Trainlink has also started a trial mid-week train service from Griffith to Sydney, complementing the weekend service.
The six-month trial started in September, leaving Coota at 10.43am on Thursdays and arriving in Sydney at 4.15pm, which for many people is a more convenient time than the XPT that gets in around 8pm.
It's the same two-carriage train that beetles through Coota on Saturdays and comes back again Sundays - now it makes the journey twice a week, additionally leaving Sydney Wednesdays and coming back Thursdays.
This gives Griffith people the opportunity to make a trip to Sydney and come back only three days later, instead of having to wait a whole week for the next train.
When asked on Monday, NSW Trainlink was unable to provide patronage figures for either the Canberra coach service or the Griffith train.
During a stopover on the first of the new mid-week train services in September, NSW Trainlink Chief Operating Officer Pete Allaway said it was important to provide integrated transport for regional areas,
"It's not just about dropping someone off at a railway station, it's about looking at the door to door aspects," Mr Allaway said.
The coach leaves Coota at 8.25am and arrives at Civic at 10.25am, returning to Coota by 7.25pm. It connects with the Sydney train at Kingston.
