A world renowned quilt maker, Wendy Williams, visited Cootamundra this week, teaching a group of 15 at The Arts Centre Cootamundra.

Ms Williams was invited to Coota by Janelle Noack, who runs regular Wednesday patchwork classes at TACC.
Based in Sydney, Ms Williams has classes booked for the next 18 months throughout Australia and overseas.
"I've been spreading the joy all around the world," she told the Herald, having become known in other countries through the patterns she sells and through her popular quilting book, published five years ago.
This year she has taught in outback Queensland, NSW, New Zealand, and the US and led a textile tour of India.
She was flabbergasted by the beautiful saris Indian women wear, even in the most poverty-stricken slums.
Next year her travels include Morocco. A Wollongong girl, she studied fashion in Sydney and got a degree in teaching, then worked "for a few different labels" before teaching, initially at Gymea TAFE, and getting more interested in quilting.
