STORYTIME CHRISTMAS
What fun it will be at our Cootamundra Library on Wednesday next, December 11, when Storytime culminates for the year with a Christmas Party!
There will not only be stories taking place but carol singing, craft and gifts with a special guest appearance from puppeteer Debra Williams and Santa Claus.
So bring the children along for a fun morning out and do bring along a plate to share.
STREET STALL
The Wallendbeen CWA annual Christmas Street Stall will be a big happening event this morning, Friday, December 6, in the Lions Van outside Westpac Bank.
The ladies have been busy cooking Christmas goodies for sale, and their Christmas Hamper Raffle is a not to be missed 'buy a ticket', filled with so many yummy bits to put away in the pantry for the Christmas table.
Do get down the street early this morning so as not to miss out.
THE TREE IS UP
Well, the Christmas tree at the Parker/Wallendoon Street roundabout is up!
The feedback from locals is positive, commenting that the ornaments and stars have been 'twinkling in the sunlight' and all in all looking fantastic.
Looked so good last night all lit up for our Cootamundra Community Christmas Party and late night shopping.
The new star decorations and lights on the tree were purchased with a kind donation from the Emergency Services Ball held in June this year.
EUROPEAN VACATION
It's welcome home to popular local couples John and Paula Fisher and Peter and Anne Lawson after a grand, fabulous, exciting trip abroad, which saw them visit Spain, Portugal and beautiful, beautiful Rome.
Spain was the first port of call where they landed in Barcelona and were blown away by a visit to the very Gothic amazing building Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, which after so many years is still under construction.
Following on was a fast train to Madrid where much sightseeing took place, including an evening at the oldest restaurant in the world, where they are photographed in the cellar.
Toledo, Granada and Seville rated as beautiful cities.
In Portugal, Lisbon was a busy sightseeing time where they did tours, travelled through the countryside, enjoyed the best restaurants and much wine tasting!
Oh, beautiful Italy where they were blown away by time spent in Venice ( I have recently returned from Italy - I say who isn't!) Onto Florence more cathedrals to view and much shopping.
The following day a long day tour calling into Tuscany, Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena. Of course they couldn't miss a visit to the leaning tower of Pisa!
To top off a memorable trip five days were spent in Rome, long days of walking the streets to marvel at the many attractions there including the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, St Peter's Basilica and of course, a visit to the Sistene Chapel.
An unforgettable trip with many, many memories.
