Saturday's cricket match at Clarke Oval saw a strong showing by Taylor Plumbing and Gas Fitting when they faced off against Cootamundra Cobras in the Blooms Chemist Under 13 competition.
The Cobras elected to bat first, and were eventually defeated with a final tally of 6 - 66 against Taylor Plumbing and Gas Fitting's 3 - 67.
The Cobras came up against a strong bowling team, with Taylors' Ethan Miller taking three wickets in four overs and only conceding two runs.
Oscar Taylor, Peter Corkery and James Rogers each took a wicket, spread over 12 overs. Between the three bowlers, they conceded just 32 runs.
Cobra's Hugo Emery stubbornly faced 37 bowls, adding 24 runs to the Cobras' total score finishing not out.
Along the way he hit thee fours.
Fellow opening batsman Henry Hazlett joined Hugo in the not out list after facing 37 bowls, for three runs.
Also making a good showing was Riley Meale who retired on nine runs after facing 30 bowls.
Ben Randall (2), Oscar Roberts (2), Oliver Wilson (3), Ben Piffero (1), Tilly Coggan (0) and Gus Smart (6) also spent time at the crease for Cobras.
Taylor Plumbing and Gas Fitting made light work of the run chase passing the 66 runs set by the Cobras in the 18th over, scoring 3-67.
Liam Miller, at the top of the order for Taylor's lead the way putting together an innings of 17 runs, which included three fours, off 30 balls in 25 minutes at the crease.
No other Taylor batter was able to reach double figures with Shawn McAllister (8 not out), Joe Roberts (3), James Rogers (0), Ethan Miller (8 not out), Peter Corkery (1) and Lachlan Brown (4 not out) all contributing to the run case.
Cobra fielders Oscar Roberts and Oliver Wilson both secured a direct run out each and Tilly Coggan took a catch in the field.
Oscar Roberts was one of the Cobras economical bowlers and took the only wicket during the match, taking one wicket and bowling a maiden to finish 1-2 off his two overs.
Riley Meale, Ben Piffero and Hugo Emery, conceded just five runs between them in a total of six overs.
This weekend, in the under 13s Cootamundra Titans are up against Harden 13s at Clarke Oval, Temora Tigers play Temora Blues at Temora Soccer ground, Taylor's Plumbing play Temora Bushrangers at Cullen Oval and Ray White meet Cootamundra Cobras at Sawpit Gully.
In the under 16s Cootamundra Kookaburras meet Cootamundra Cockatoos at Albert Park, Temora Thunder are up against Young at Nixon Park No 2 and Temora Scorchers meet Ariah Park at Nixon Park No 1.
Last weekend the Kookaburras went down to Young Under 16s in a match played at Cranfield Oval in Young.
Batting first the Kookaburras set Young 116 for victory off 21 overs.

In reply Young reached 7-118 off 23 overs with Ethan Birks top scoring with 39. His fellow opener Jack Apps put on 13 as the pair combined for a opening partnership of 48 which set the platform for Young's victory.
