The horses, Hollywood and Navajo, together with their riders from Sydney, delighted all on Saturday last out and about.

Whilst here, Hollywood and Navajo had the pleasure of meeting local man retired Senior Sergeant Don "Banjo" Paterson. Mr Paterson was in the Mounted Unit many years ago. He is now 91 years old and was thrilled to see them in his hometown.

The policewomen commented that the locals were SOOO welcoming and certainly enjoyed their presence here in town for the day.

Accolades to the Beach Volleyball Committee on a job well done! The weekend was a huge success with over 120 teams competing and filling all accommodation and cafes over the two days.

This note appeared on the Mounted Police website this week - "Thanks for the warm welcome Coota".

Now, bring on the 17th Coota Old Blokes "No Frills" Reunion set to take place here this weekend (of course all ladies are also MOST WELCOME).

Many former Coota residents are expected back in town - festivities kick off around 1pm at the Ex-Services Club with catch up time, a few lies and multiple drinks!

The club is the venue for dinner and dancing. Then Sunday morning Barefoot Bowls and a sausage sizzle takes place before everyone ventures over to the Central Hotel to finish the day off.

Well, after having been at the helm of Rockmans for the past 24 years, lovely lady Lesley Cheshire has retired and made a move to Wagga where she and husband Graeme have the Chadstone Street Nursery. Their two daughters and families live in Wagga.

Lesley's happy face will be missed from Rockmans - especially missing her will be her long-time partner there Charlene Jones. Charlene and Lesley worked together for close on 24 years. As you move on Lesley, we wish you GOOD LUCK and much success with the nursery. We will all call to see you when in Wagga.

Warmest wishes to George and Pat Fitzgerald of 'Geraldine Park' who recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. I was delighted to catch up with them at the Installation Mass for Fr. Lolesio held in St. Anthony's Church, Harden.

The Cootamundra Branch of CWA began the year on a high note with over 20 new and old members present at their February meeting. A number of events are in the pipeline and the committee congratulated members on the success of functions held in the latter part of 2019. The next meeting is Thursday, March 12 commencing at 10am - new members are most welcome.

The theatre at the Cootamundra Arts Centre is one busy spot over the next week or so with three movies showing for us all to go along and ENJOY.

Tonight at 7pm the screening of the most enjoyable movie 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood' starring Tom Hanks takes place. The bar will be open from 6pm.

Tomorrow (Saturday) at 3pm the electrifying spy movie 'Spies in Disguise' is showing. Then again at 2pm Sunday. Sunday at 5pm is the movie 'Jo Jo Rabbit'. Wednesday next at 10.30am 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood' and Sunday, March 1 at 5pm the final screening of 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood'.
