Guests also celebrated the fact that Wallendbeen growers have again won the NSW championships, with Scott and Julia McLeod of "Thornleigh" being presented with the top prize at an awards dinner in Dubbo in January.
Before presenting local awards, Ken Thorburn outlined a brief history of the competition. He thanked all for their contribution over the years, and in particular paid tribute to his father, Ross Thorburn, Glen Leahy, and Greg Hines who all helped start the competition 50 years ago.
Presentation of trophies and prizes, sponsored by Adama, was organised by Nick Sheahan of Coota Producers.
Organisers thanked Nick Sheahan, the judge Andrew Daly, Wallendbeen Hotel and all who attended.
