Organisers announced on Facebook they were discussing the impact of the COVID-19 virus and the future of the festival in 2020, and would make an informed decision whether to go ahead or not on Monday afternoon.
The ABBA Festival runs over the first weekend in May, with the Trundle Pink Ribbon Night that has been growing in popularity each year on the Friday night.
The event, this year in its eighth year, usually attracts more than 5000 visitors and injects an estimated $1.3 million into the local economy.
"It is with deep regret that we announce the postponement of the 2020 event and are looking forward to a tentative new date of Saturday, October 17," organisers announced on the Trundle ABBA Festival Facebook page at 4.28pm on Monday.
"The health and safety of all of us is our number one priority.
"We understand that it would be easier for some if we just cancelled the event all together, however, this event holds such a special place in everyone's heart and we would like to try our best to keep the event going for the lovely people of Trundle and the surrounding region."
The Pink Ribbon Night has also been moved to Friday, October 16.
"We are working with all parties involved to ensure there is a smooth transition to the new date," the post read.
"Thank you to everyone who has shown concern and empathy regarding the future of the 2020 Trundle ABBA Festival."
Ticket holders have been told to hold onto their tickets, with entry, camping, glamping and the ABBA Train automatically rolling to the new date, and anyone who is unable to attend the new proposed date will be entitled to a full refund.
People can email contact@123tix.com.au for any ticketing enquiries.
Attendees are also being asked to speak with their hotel/motel provider directly, to swap their bookings over to the new date.
