Her husband Father Bill Pryce, who gave me this happy news story, commented that the family was disappointed they have had to cancel Dorothy's party.
Dorothy has lived in Cootamundra for 31 years together with husband, Father Bill.
For those years, Dorothy has been a communicant member of the local Anglican parish community, a member of CWA, Probus and a supporter of Rotary projects in town.
She is the proud mother of two sons, David and Justin. David graduated from Charles Sturt University with a degree in medical laboratory science and now leads a team of nine staff at Westmead Hospital.
Justin is an award-winning craftsman in upholstery and runs his factory at Seven Hills.
Dorothy is equally proud of her two daughters-in-law Teagan and Bree and grandchildren Calab and Ivy.
Dorothy is a double-certificate trained nurse, a graduate from Goulburn Base Hospital and Canterbury Hospital.
Father Bill and Dorothy have lived and served the following communities well: Delegate, Moruya, Junee Albury and Cootamundra.
Warmest birthday wishes Dorothy.
BIRTHDAY TIME
Heath Harrison from the Coota Herald and his wife Christine are this week celebrating the birthdays of two of their children.
Brianna turned 11 on March 27 and yesterday (April 2), Hayden celebrated his 18th birthday.
A party to mark Hayden's 18th was set for this weekend at their Wallendbeen home. Not happening because of the current coronavirus situation, but plans for a belated celebration could be in the pipeline.
Happy birthday Hayden and Brianna.
A PICTURE PERFECT EVENT
The wedding of Riley Ewings, the son of Greg and Tracey Ewings, and Brooke Spackman, daughter of Terry and Maree Spackman of West Wyalong, took place at the home of the groom's parents, Hurleyville at Cootamundra on Saturday, February 22.
The venue was built by family and friends, featuring beautiful timber walls, doors and bar.
The amazing floral arrangements in the venue and ceremony spot were created by the very talented Trish Hines. I would like to show you in a later edition of Around Cootamundra - the impressive, fabulous job talented Trish did on the interior of the venue.
The men in the bridal party were dressed by (of course) Jak + Jill!
Beautiful bouquets and buttonholes were by Elizabeth Anne Florist.
Photos to remember this happy time were by the incredible Carmen Hickey Photography. There were 140 guests in attendance, most having travelled from far and wide to play a part in Riley and Brooke's special day.
Guests sat down to very tasty canapes and a banquet-style dinner ably managed by Michele Seymour Catering and were entertained well into the night by Olivia McDermott Music.
Congratulations Riley and Brooke.
READING TIME
Well, with lockdown time at home currently in vogue, one has plenty of reading/video time at their disposal.
I emptied the library shelves of eight books prior to their enforced closure - two down six to go.
Our Cootamundra library has the following on offer to fill in one's day, with head of library Penny Howse there to lend a hand:
Members can reach the library by phone (6940 2200) email, or through Facebook to request items.
We just ask members to help us with favourite authors, genre, print size etc.
The library also has a huge collection of DVDs and audiobooks.
Members can have up to the regulation 30 items at a time.
We offer home delivery on the same day where possible.
Thank you goes out to Penny and staff for making the above available.
LET'S KEEP GOING
As so many events/functions/gatherings held in town that I would be attending and reporting on are all over for the time being, I need some help if this page is to continue.
Please phone/email any happy news items that come your way.
