In a message to members last week Rhonda Douglas said "The BUGs will not be riding as a group for awhile yet even though the restrictions are easing, this is only the first stage so we will see how this goes".
Cycling Australia are still not recommending group rides due to recommendations from the Australian Institute of Sport.
"Whilst groups of ten are permitted, they are still saying two can ride next to each other 1.5 metres apart, the next rider must be at least 10 metres behind," Ms Douglas said.
"Due to the average age of the BUGs and the vulnerability within the group, we are not rushing into starting the group riding just yet.
"Hopefully things will keep improving over time," she said.
