According to Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service lamb numbers improved and the quality was good with a lot of lambs coming off crops.
Trade and heavy lambs made up the bulk and store lambs were limited.
The market sold to a similar trend on trade lambs but eased $2 to $4/head on the heavy weights. All the usual buyers attended.
Trade lambs to 24kg sold from $180 to $225/head for late new season lambs. Carcase prices averaged 880c to 930c/kg cwt.
Heavy lambs made from $210 to $231 and extra heavy weights reached $240/head to average around 800c/kg cwt.
Merino hoggets sold to $180/head.
Mutton numbers were limited and the market was strong. Medium weight ewes sold from $150 to $180 and heavy sheep made from $200 to $220 and extra heavy crossbred ewes reached $250/head.
