According to Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service lamb numbers increased at this sale and quality was good.
Heavy trade and heavy lambs made up the bulk and light store lambs were very limited.
A full field of buyers attended the dearer market.
Medium and heavy trade lambs were $4 dearer selling from $182 to $228/head to average from 935c to 80c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs sold from $210 to $240/head remaining firm and extra heavy lambs made from $245 to $265/head to average from 790c to 880c/kg cwt.
The best of the trade Merinos reached $207/head.
Mutton numbers were limited but increased in volume and the quality was good with a lot of heavy and extra heavy sheep. P
rices were back a little on the medium weights and heavy weights were similar. Medium weight ewes sold from $150 to $166/head.
Heavy crossbred ewes made from $200 to $276 and Merinos sold from $181 to $221/head averaging 720c to 740c/kg cwt.
