Transport NSW says the XPT service will continue its regular timetable between Albury and Sydney, but the train will not travel through Victoria due to the Covid-19 temporary border closure.
Trains and buses are now not operating into and out of Queensland, Victoria or South Australia.
The Brisbane XPT is starting and terminating at Casino, and buses to Gold Coast and Brisbane are terminating at Tweed Heads.
Buses from Broken Hill to Adelaide are not running.
For Cootamundra passengers, the timetable northbound remains unchanged, with the XPT leaving Cootamundra at 2.38pm and 1.35am, and arriving in Sydney 7.47pm and 6.59am respectively.
The timetable is also unchaged for southbound passengers, except that the train terminates in Albury. Southbound, the XPT leaves Cootamundra at 12.46pm and 1.47am, arriving in Albury 3.11pm and 4.08am respectively.
The last Melbourne to Sydney service departed Southern Cross Station on Monday night, arriving in Sydney Tuesday morning.
Transport for NSW and Department of Transport (Victoria) are currently assessing other public transport services which operate between NSW and Victoria.
Transport for NSW is continuing to work closely with NSW Health, NSW Police, industry stakeholders and operational professionals around a number of important issues including freight operations, logistics and maritime.
Special conditions will be in place for freight operations and logistics as well as other critical services. Provisions will also be in place for residents of border regions, including Albury-Wodonga.
The safety of all customers and staff is the number one priority and Transport for NSW will continue to proactively address the evolving situation.
