A report from the Cootamundra Tourism Action Group (CTAG) said it was "direspectful and a poor look for visitors" to have Anzac banners still up so late, and similarly to still have had Christmas banners flying in February.
General manager Phil McMurray said the council had been waiting on new banners to arrive, and there had also been work safety issues with Essential Energy.
A full complement of banners has now arrived, he said, and there was a schedule in place for staff to change the banners regularly.
Cr Leigh Bowden said it would be better to have no banners up than the wrong ones.
