The Club was successful in securing two grants for the program; $5000 to purchase swimming training equipment, and $1550 to cover the registration fee for two local coaches to attend the ASCTA conference.
"In a former life I was a passionate swimmer and know just how important equipment and training is for this wonderful sport," Ms Cooke said.
"While many people can't imagine getting in the pool in this weather, these Sports Grants will help the Cootamundra Swimming & Lifesaving Club be ready for the season ahead. I am so pleased this local club has gotten a share of this program."
President of the Cootamundra Swimming & Lifesaving Club Mark Lake said the Club has been growing quickly and hasn't been able to meet the increased demand for equipment.
"This is a massive bonus as these funds will be put to great use for the benefit of our swimmers and coach's development for the upcoming season," Mr Lake said.
"Thanks to the State Government in providing these grants for regional sporting and community bodies. I would also like to thank Steph Cooke for her continued support."
