Firstly, a couple of Club Championships in the Major Pairs division and both indicating very positive results for the winning pair.
The game A Ward and E Jarrott versus P Rasmussen and K Breasley began with both teams winning ends and then the rot set in for Arthur and Eddie as one opposition bowl on several occasions stopped four shots to them and thus Peter and Kevin went on to victory with a (31- 10) score. The second Major Pairs was J O`Louglin and C Willis versus K Ryan and R Johnson, and again a very convincing win (29-9) for Kerry and Ron.
However that winning score does not reveal the intensity of play.
A Major Singles to be recorded was between E Jarrott and J Malone, and it found John getting away to a (16-4) lead after first 13 ends and then Eddie began to fire, getting the gap down to five shots at one stage but could not go on from there and John went on to record a strong win (31-19
Social games for the week
G Hagan, B Gibson, and G Davidson won the last end of their game with W Prosser, C Miller and M Barber (22-21) for 16.5 points, and meat tray winners for day were C Peters, J Malone and G Worboys with their (24-8) win over J Cooper, W Rush and C Willis for 21.5 points.
F Kerr, R Cleveland and B Lange defeated G Bottrall, R Johnson and M Barber for a margin of four shots, and then chook winners for the day were K Medcalf, D Guthrie and R Rosengreen in a hard fought battle against P Rasmussen, D Harris and R Smith, and ending with a plus eight margin (20-12).
The jackpot remains intact.
