According to spokespersons the case is reportedly from the Snowy Mountains Local Government Area and is a returned traveller who is currently in hotel quarantine, however due to their residential address has been recorded in the MLHD figures.
This case makes a total of three new cases in the MLHD over the past week with two positive cases reported at the start of last week from Albury.
Two cases of the virus have been detected in the Cootamundra-Gundagai Local Government area since the start of the pandemic.
Wagga Wagga (10) and Albury (7) have had the highest incidence of the virus.
Meanwhile NSW Health and the NSW Government however are concerned over an outbreak stemming from the Crossroads Hotel in Casula.
They are urging anyone locally who had visited the pub in the period between Friday, July 3 and Friday July 10 to self-isolate for 14 days and be tested immediately if they have any symptoms related to COVID-19.
On Monday morning there were nine confirmed cases of COVID-19 linked to the Crossroads Hotel outbreak.
Across the border in Victoria records continue to tumble with the state recording four consecutive days of positive cases over 200.
On Friday the state reported a massive surge in the number of cases recorded with 288.
In the 24 hours up until Sunday there was a further 273 cases reported bringing the state's total to 3,799 confirmed cases.
According to Victorian Health 1,125,414 tests have been conducted since the pandemic started and 2,289 people have recovered from the virus.
Last week NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian told locals to not travel to the border region unless absolutely necessary and those living in border regions to not leave their towns.
The premier went so far as to warn that a border bubble could be implemented if positive cases on the border rise.
