Adjustments have been required across all sports with social distancing regulations in place as well as enhanced hygiene and rules surrounding signing in and out of venues.
The regulations have been put in place to protect as many people as possible should it end up a participant, parent or spectator has Covid19.
Even though winter sports have only just started, attention is already turning to summer sports.
Little Athletics was not able to run last year due to a lack of committee members, however former president Joanna Pavert and the overarching body of Little Athletics in the local area are very keen to see it run again this summer.
From Tiny Tots to bigger kids, Little As is lots of fun - perfect for coordination, fitness, strength and social interaction - but it can only run if parents put their hands up to join the committee.
An Annual General Meeting will be held over the coming weeks (a date will be announced on the Cootamundra Little Athletics page and in the Cootamundra Herald).
Little Athletics Support and Development Officer Jessica Earsman, based in Wagga, said she recognises this year will be like no other as the sport balances continuing for the children involved with Covid safety.
"My goal is, firstly, to ensure Cootamundra can run their season this year," Ms Earsman said.
"To begin, we need interest in joining the committee so I'd encourage parents to start thinking about whether it is something they can commit to," she added.
She specified the committee will have the full support of the governing body in implementing Covid safety guidelines with a safety plan outline already in place for all clubs.
Many of the athletics disciplines already lend themselves to physical distancing of participants so the biggest changes will be around the shared use of equipment of ensuring Covid can-not be spread this way.
Timing of events will also be staggered to avoid groups of people.
"We will do everything we can to support the committee - this is new for everyone and anyone who joins certainly won't be going it alone," Ms Earsman said.
If a committee can be formed, registrations for Little Athletics in Cootamundra will open up in August with the season to commence in September, running through the summer.
Little Athletics has been popular in Cootamundra in the past with upwards of 50 young people taking to Albert Park each Friday evening in recent years.
