A 78 run partnership between Oscar Roberts (39) and Ted Caldwell set the platform for Cootamundra's win over Taylor Plumbing in round one of the Blooms Chemist Under 16s competition on the weekend.

Cootamundra's innings started badly with opener Nick Louttit out without troubling the scorer.
Darien O'Toole (15) and Roberts went about stabilising the innings before O'Toole was dismissed with the score on 21 bringing Taylor Plumbing well into the match with the score 2-21.
Caldwell then strode to the middle and with the help of Roberts turned the match on its head, progressing the total to 99 before he was dismissed.
Harvey Holt (3) and Madeline Twyford (0) were both dismissed with the score on 106.
Roberts, in combination with Riley Meale (not out 1) took Cootamundra's total to 116 before the innings closed.
In reply Taylor Plumbing managed 9-71 with Daniel Smith (11) and Liam Miller (16) the main contributors with the bat.
Darien O'Toole (2-4) and Ted Caldwell (2-1) were the main destroyers with ball in hand. Blake Sloan (1-16), Ella McTavish (1-10), O Taylor (1-6) and Nick Louttit (1-6) chimed in with wickets.
