
Cannabis with a street value estimated at $11,500 was seized from the boot of a car by highway patrol police on Burley Griffin Way yesterday.
The car, driven by a man aged 62, was stopped at 4.40pm yesterday (Thursday) between Stockinbingal and Wallendbeen for random mobile roadside testing.
After police spoke with the vehicle's occupants they decided to do a vehicle search.
They found more than half a kilogram (567 grams) of cannabis in a shopping bag in the boot.
Police estimate the wholesale value of the cannabis at approximately $5,000, and if sold in street level deals approximately $11,500.

The male driver was arrested and taken to Cootamundra Police Station, where he was charged with possessing and supplying a prohibited drug.
He was bailed to appear at Cootamundra Local Court.
