The second annual Christmas Gift Market and fund-raiser for Cootamundra Scouts was a great success on Saturday, with the Scout Hall filled with people only ten minutes after the doors opened at 9am.
A brisk trade was done by all 24 stall holders inside and outside the hall, selling a range of clothing, toys, jewellery, artworks, decorations, candles and novelty items all hand crafted by local artisans.
Organiser Dotti Le Sage was amazed at the hundreds of people who flocked to the event, shrugging off the very hot weather.
"People kept saying how good it was," she said. "Locals and tourists commented on the extensive variety of the stalls, so many compliments.
"I think everyone was surprised by the variety of local talent - several of the artisans were participating in their very first event, and there were a lot more things made by young people."
A barbecue outside the hall was run throughout the day by Joeys, Cubs and Scouts.
Stall fees were donated to the Scouts, with proceeds going to raise funds for attendance at the National Scout Jamboree planned for Victoria in 2022.
The two raffle prizes were won by Kate and Bianca both very happy locals.
