"MLHD confirms fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19 have been detected in sewage in Leeton, Boorowa, Albury and Mulwala in the last 24 hours," a MLHD spokesperson said.
With the return of a positive result locals are being urged by MLHD and NSW Health to come forward for testing and to monitor for symptoms, especially as there has been no known case in the area recently.
The announcement follows positive sewage samples detected in Young on Tuesday October 5, 2021 and Tuesday October 12, 2021.
Again, MLHD is urging all residents in the local area to monitor for symptoms and come forward for testing for even the mildest of symptoms.
