There have been a number of changes at local police stations across the Young sector with new officers as well as some vacancies across the region.
Acting Officer In Charge of Young Inspector Adrian Matthews said the vacancies are being widely publicised with the hope they will be filled soon as well as a number of highly experienced officers moving into the region.
"We are lucky to have a number of experienced police moving into the Young sector and the current vacancies are being promoted widely to attract the most appropriate candidate," Insp Matthews said.
A new officer has started in Grenfell while a reshuffle of the current officer has started at the station.
" A new lock up keeper has started at Grenfell his name is Senior Constable Mark Best," Insp Matthews said.
"Senior Constable Zoe Milne who had been in Grenfell has moved to Young Police Station and we have filled her position with Senior Constable Andrew Tajsic.
"Andrew's partner Senior Constable Erin Huntsman has taken up a position in Young and both of them start on the 12th December 2021."
In Harden an officer who left the force has been replaced and will start in the middle of November.
"The lock up keeper from Harden has left the police force and he is being replaced by Constable Eden Ross, she begins on the 14th November 2021," Insp Matthews said.
"Her partner Constable Sam Presland is taking up a position in Young and will begin in February 2022."
A replacement officer has already started working in Boorowa with another position continuing to be advertised as vacant and should be filled by the start of next year.
"The back up lock up keeper position has been filled by Constable Tiegan Whitney and she has commenced duties," Insp Matthews said.
"The Lock up keeper position has been advertised with a number of excellent candidates applying.
"A selection for this position will occur next week with the successful candidate starting January 2022."
According to Insp Matthews Jugiong is on track to have a new officer at the station by the start of next year with a number of fantastic candidates applying for the position.
"This position has been advertised and has also received a number of well qualified candidates," he said.
"A decision on this vacancy will be occurring next week with the officer to start in January 2022."
Insp Matthews said that on top of the two new officers already mentioned Young is also set to get a new sergeant who will be starting in the middle of November.
"There is a new Sergeant starting on the 14th November 2021 and his name is Mark Hutchinson," he said.
A number of Koorawatha and Greenethorpe residents were concerned with the local police officers finishing up in the small towns, however Insp Matthews wants to reassure the community that there will be new officers joining the villages.
"The officer there has left the police force and the position is vacant," Insp Matthews said in regards to Koorawatha.
"It has been advertised to be filled.
"This position (Greenethorpe) is also vacant and has been advertised to be filled."
Caragabal residents are also being reassured by Insp Matthews they too will have a new officer at the station despite the extended period of time it has been without one.
"I acknowledge the station has been vacant for an extended period but it will be advertised to be filled in early December 2021," he said.
