About 240 people packed the Town Hall on Saturday night and about 70 made their way to the Arts Centre to see the performance on Friday night.
While the final figure is yet to be tallied, organisers are confident more than $5000 was raised from the two shows. Funds will be split between the Ultrasound Appeal, being coordinated by Barbara Tozer and Cheryl Hazlett, and the Cootamundra Creative Arts and Cultural Centre Committee.
The ‘legend’ himself Mark also made a pit stop on Saturday morning at the Cootamundra Nursing Home where he entertained residents and visitors from the Retirement Village.
Isabel Scott of the Arts Centre Committee said it was “an outstanding weekend”.
“It was something people would not traditionally have the chance to see in Cootamundra and as a committee we want to bring to Cootamundra events that would not usually be here,” Mrs Scott said.
Audience members reported a terrific night, saying the show was of a high calibre and they had a great time.
The Civic Hall, where the audience entered the Town Hall from, was dressed up as the old George Street Trocadero Dance hall, with Anna Betts and Karlie Johnson, both of Chris Edwards School of Dance, entertaining as go go dancers.
Raffle tickets have been sold as part of the fundraising with a Hamilton Island holiday up for grabs.
The raffle will be drawn on June 23 at an event to be held at the Arts Centre.
The Legends Showcase was the brainchild of former Cootamundra resident Tracey Lord, the daughter of current Cootamundra locals Richard and Verlie Lord.
Ms Lord had wanted to do something for her former hometown and assist the Arts Centre and Ultrasound Appeal.
