The Bowditch family wish to announce the wedding of Cootamundra’s Michael Bowditch and Rachel Turner. The wedding took place at ‘The Shirley Hotel’ in Bethungra on Saturday 5 April, 2014.
It was a wonderful day despite the weather, with much of Rachel’s family coming from Tuross Head on the South Coast.
The reception was also held at The Hotel with many guests commenting on how wonderful the venue was. CONGRATULATIONS Michael & Rachel.
BRILLIANT DAY OUT
Accolades to the Committee of the Picnic Race Club on the success of their race meeting held on Saturday last.
Against all odds the weather ‘turned around’, the numbers were up on last year and I met people who had traveled from far and wide to delight in the hospitality Cootamundra people offered. The group from the Royal Sydney Golf Club were having the best time here in town and many I spoke to were saying they expect to return ‘same time next year’!
People travelled from Pelican Waters, Queensland, Warren, Port Stephens, Sydney, Melbourne and the nicest couple Jerry and Geraldine Heffernan from Inverloch, South Gippsland, Vic. (they commented they will be back for the races next year!)
DON’T FORGET
Hope you read in last Friday’s Cootamundra Herald all about the exciting evening set to take place this Saturday night at The Arts Centre.
Titled V.D. written by Pete Malicki and starring Eliza St. John, it is a 60 minute one-woman comedy on how a single girl spends Valentines Day! Hilarious!
The bar at the Arts Centre will open at 7pm, the performance is 8pm, and tickets are available at the Arts Centre.
GENEROUS LOCALS
How good is it to note all the local residents and businesses supporting the Nursing Home sprinkler system -
TODAY in front of the Post Office Twomeys will have a stand (8.30am to 2pm) under the banner of “Get Real Day”, Twomeys Real Estate Day, with a Sausage Sizzle Lunch taking place. Pop over and get your lunch there as all proceeds will be going to the sprinkler system appeal.
TOMORROW the residents of Wattle Grove will be hosting a ‘shower’ Morning Tea in their Boatshed community room, the time 10am to 12 noon. All are most welcome to come along. Again proceeds to the sprinkler system. See you there..
SATURDAY Rob and Bev McPherson will open their home ‘for the cause’ with the event the Bore Runner’s Pictorial Journey (a slideshow regarding life on outback stations and the ever changing landscape), beginning with Morning Tea at 10.30am then again at 2pm followed by Afternoon Tea - a Trading Table and Raffle will be there at 6 Kirley Place.
AND, WELCOME to all those in town this week for the Annual Veterans Week of Golf.
A number of former locals and golfers from other clubs, here in town to delight in our current ‘pristine’ golf course.
The group from the Royal Sydney Golf Club did so enjoy their time on our golf course.
