YOLANDA Scholtz and The Khaya have jumped on board to support Camp Quality’s ‘Dine at Mine’ fundraiser.
For the entire month of August, Yolanda will donate 10 per cent of money made in her cafe each Friday to the cause.
Camp Quality is all about creating a better life for children in Australia living with cancer.
They do terrific work and hats off to Yolanda and her team for supporting this worthy cause - show your support by stopping in for a coffee or snack on Friday.
Great contribution
COOTAMUNDRA and district residents will be saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Mr Michael Davidson OBE, known for his contribution to agriculture.
Mr Davidson passed away in the Southern Highlands Private Hospital, Bowral, aged 86, on August 7.
His incredible commitment to the ag industry saw him work tirelessly with the Graziers Association, NSW Farmers Association and National Farmers Federation.
Tomorrow friends of the late Mr Davidson of ‘Little Yarran’, Young can pay their respects at a memorial to take place at ‘Yarran’, Young from 12noon.
Heritage Centre birthday
TODAY is the 13th birthday of the Cootamundra Heritage Centre and to mark the occasion an Open Day is being held at the centre in Hovell Street, near the railway complex, from 10.30am.
If you haven’t been to the Heritage Centre it makes for an interesting wander-through with lots to see.
A special exhibition has been curated in honour of the Heritage Centre’s birthday entitled by the centre’s volunteers ‘Highlighting Cootamundra’s Heritage’.
White Ribbon dinner
THE Soroptimist International Cootamundra branch dinner to celebrate the 30th birthday of the organisation is fast approaching.
The dinner will take place on Wednesday, August 27.
Through the dinner the Soroptimists have decided to support the White Ribbon Foundation and an ambassador from the foundation will be in attendance on the night to speak.
The White Ribbon Foundation is all about preventing violence against women.
Globally, White Ribbon is the world’s largest male-led movement to end men’s violence against women. Originating in Canada in 1991, White Ribbon is now active in more than 60 countries and began in Australia in 2003.
You can support the cause by supporting the Soroptimist dinner, which will commence at 7 for 7.30pm on the date listed above and cost $40.
