FORMER local girl Rebecca Peel (nee Ritchie) will be back in her old stomping ground when she takes part in this Saturday’s River and Wren Boutique Market at the Showground.

Rebecca, with friends Julia and Sarah, is behind ‘The Bread and Butter Collective’ which specialises in bush-dyeing.
The girls use everything from mistletoe from gumtrees to tumeric and rosemary to dye the fabric. All of the ‘ingredients’ with the fabric, specially tied and folded for maximum effect, is placed in a large copper laundry tub over an open fire.
The heat works to release the dye staining the fabric and once unfolded the patterns appear.
No two pieces are ever the same creating a unique piece for any home.
The bush-dyed fabric is then turned into everything from tablecloths and serviettes to clutch purses and lampshades.
The girls also do custom orders for interested customers.
“We want to create nice homewares that are a bit out of the ordinary for people to enjoy at an affordable price,” Rebecca said.
Her background is in graphic design while both Julia and Sarah have studied fine arts.
The Bread and Butter Collective allows the girls to tap into their creative sides and collaborate on unique projects.
They have only been travelling to different markets with their wares for four months and so far Rebecca could not be more over the moon with feedback received.
They are looking forward to attending the River and Wren Boutique Market in Cootamundra and epitomise what the market is all about - quality, style, uniqueness and functionality.
The Bread and Butter Collective is just one of around 25 market shops which will be part of the day.
River and Wren Boutique Market, formerly the Muddi Market, is a beautiful, predominantly indoor market created to support local and regional creators and local food producers to showcase and sell their products to appreciative customers.
Market shops will include clothing, jewellery, lavender products, candles, cards, toys, homewares, millinery, fishing lures, plants, eco-cleaning products and more.
Shoppers will be able to buy their weekly supplies from the Produce Pantry, including fresh local fruit and vegetables and condiments.
Enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat while at the market, with both sweet and savoury delicacies available from The Market Kitchen.
There will be plenty of fun for children with a jumping castle, face painting, pony carriage rides and an animal farm.
The market is proud to be a part of the community and this weekend they will support the Cootamundra Community Soup Kitchen.
Soup Kitchen volunteers will run a community barbeque at the market with all proceeds from this going back to this worthy cause.
Entry to the market is free, however there will be an opportunity for people to make a small donation to the Soup Kitchen to help them continue their valuable work.
The market will run from 10am until 2pm.
