Although not all players could travel, they managed to field a side with a few extras and the help of the local Dolphins.
Playing in new positions with different players did not stop the Coota Bears from playing in a determined and spirited fashion.
After a few early tries against Coota, combinations started to work. With go forward from Campbell and Max and great defence from Jim Harry and Jack, Coota fought back.
Playing, with pride and purpose Henry created some opportunities, Seb schemed to take control and James set up a couple of tries.
With the warm weather having a toll on the much larger opposition, Coota really started to give Broulee a run for their money.
It was a close game with both teams showing great skill, sportsmanship and quality football. In fact, Bazz Adams nearly spilt his beer and fell out of his deck chair it was that nail biting!
The end score was maybe not what we all hoped for, but really, a winning game was not what these boys wanted out of the weekend. They were happy to have a swim with their mates, a bumpy go-kart ride in the caravan park and some sausages at the surf club!
Presentations from the opposition coach awarded Campbell and Harry with some Dolphin memorabilia.
Many thanks from the Bears go to parents for supporting this end of season trip and Hugo Harpley for organising the team.
