AMIE’S DELIGHT
Amie Whitby, an employee at the Eloura Laundry, has loved drama since she was at school. Since Amie became aware of the upcoming CADAS production, ‘Still on the Boyle’ she has been asking the employment training officer, Cathy Ashcroft, if she can be part of the night of short plays.
Cathy, long-time CADAS member and actor in the upcoming production, asked writer and producer, Marty Boyle, if some small part could be found for Amie.
Marty was able to write a few lines into his play “Waiting Room Woes” to enable Amie to make her debut.
“It’s only a few lines this time,” said Marty “but who knows where it will lead in the future.”
Marty, who is also president of CADAS, says the organisation in tandem with CADAS Kids has been wholly dedicated to the community of Cootamundra. It has supported countless charities and projects over its sixty seven year history.
Marty went on to say “It’s been a pleasure to give Amie this break and we all want her to “break a leg” when she steps out onto the stage this week .
AND, how kind of Cathy and Martin to enable Amie to ‘fulfil her dream’!
