A sign-up day for the 2015 season will take place on Sunday, February 1 between 10am and 2pm at the Pony Clubhouse at the Showground.
Newly elected president Paul Clancy said the membership day is for existing members and those who are interested in joining.
It will be a non-riding day, however there will displays of equipment, tack and uniforms as well as a sausage sizzle.
The ground should be in great shape with a working bee to be held prior to the registrations between 7am and 10am.
Mr Clancy explained there will be lots of parents and committee members on hand to explain what Pony Club is all about.
As a parent of Pony Club kids as well as president Mr Clancy described Pony Club as a “good, fun place for kids to come along”.
“They build a lot of friendships because they’re all interested in the same thing as well as increasing their horsemanship skills,” Mr Clancy said.
He said there will be a focus towards making rally days more instructional with a number of guest instructors to be invited during the year.
Current instructors are Katie Williams, chief instructor, along with Janice Southwell, Angela Synfield and Lucy Pigram - all offering something a bit different to kids involved.
“We encourage people to come along on sign-up day and have a talk if they’re not sure what we’re all about,” Mr Clancy said.
While it is not mandatory, most Pony Club kids compete in gymkhanas across the district and beyond throughout the year.
Last year there were about 30 riding members of the club with the new-look committee hoping for even greater numbers this year.
In addition to Paul as president, Paul Edwards is vice-president, Heidi Clancy secretary and Angela Synfield treasurer.
