FORMER Cootamundra woman Amanda Norman flew to Russia yesterday to undergo stem cell therapy for Multiple Sclerosis.

Before take-off, Mrs Norman admitted going through a number of emotions, but said she was now ready.
“I would be thinking what if the plane falls out of the sky? What if something happens to my mum or kids while I’m away?
“Once I let go of those feelings, I felt much better.
“When I was diagnosed 20 years ago, my world fell apart.”
The campaign to raise money to get Mrs Norman overseas has fallen about $9000 short of its goal, but good friend Rebecca Hennessy is planning more fundraisers to help Amanda pay the bills when she returns.
“Rebecca has a few things planned while I’m away to help reach the goal,” she said.
Mrs Norman received a boost when 94six general manager Kelly Pilon donated $1000 towards the trip on behalf of the company.
Mrs Norman will spend six weeks in Russia and is expected to return on July 18.
The process involves a 10-day lockdown after Mrs Norman undergoes chemotherapy and has her stem cells “cleaned”. She will not be able to come into contact with anyone other than her doctor and nurse.
