In 1915 the Federal Government had put a referendum for conscription, to the populace, the proposal failed, consequently Australia resorted to Recruitment Marches, hence the Kangaroos.
They marched, collecting men along the way and at Campbelltown boarded a steam train to take them into Sydney, numbering 222 men.
Our Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove will be in attendance at Wallendbeen.
There will be stalls on the oval as well as activities for children.
The Cobb and Co coach, and the Light Horse will be represented by a rider with an original medical pack from 1915, on a horse.
The general public are invited to join the walk from near the cemetery into Wallendbeen where a ceremony will take place at the Cenotaph.
The walkers will be fed by local organisations, including Red Cross, before continuing on their way the next day.
