In a tense struggle, it took until the final minutes of the game for the Bullettes to secure their passage through to the following week
Trailing 6-4 with 90 seconds left on the clock, a try to Kelsey Hogan following good lead up play by Maddison Byrne and Kristen Glanville proved the difference.
The game started at a frenetic pace and it was the Bullettes who seemed to be controlling most of the play.
Danni Visser, Ellisha Large and Mikayla Large were all making handy metres through the middle, while Cara Phillis's kicking game ensured the Bullettes were playing the game out of their own end.
Against the run of play the Thunder registered first points through an intercept.
Cootamundra hit back not long after through Renae Glanville, who was a stand-out not only with the ball but also defensively.
The second half was played all down in the Thunder’s half as Coota mounted plenty of pressure through the likes of Lily Hogan, Lily Tiernan and Emily Levett.
Abby Perry had her best game for the year thus far, while Taylah Phillis once again let no one down.
The weight of possession eventually told just in the nick of time for the Bullettes with a spectacular try bringing a well deserved win.
They have now booked themselves a spot against the Temora Dragons this coming Saturday, with the winner heading into a grand final qualifier against the loser of this weekend’s qualifying final between Brothers and Gundagai.
