Organiser Pat Drew says about 20 helpers are still needed for the morning of Sunday February 21 if the event is to go ahead.
“Those who are on the committee have been doing it for a fair while and our numbers are getting less and less,” Mr Drew said.
“We can’t run the event if we don’t have enough helpers. It would not be safe, and if we’re going to do it we want to do it well.”
Mr Drew said volunteers are needed for tasks including assisting with registration, and standing on corners to direct competitors.
“It’s nothing too difficult, we just need the manpower,” he said.
The triathlon is held on the Sunday of the Coota Beach Volleyball weekend, which does make volunteers harder to come by.
Any organisation or individual who can help on the day is urged to contact Mr Drew as soon as possible on 0429 434 204.
