The team made history defeating Wagga by 21 runs in the grand final to take possession of the Stacey Shield for Cootamundra for the ?first time since it was introduced in 1999/2000.
It was Cootamundra’s first representative victory in the under 12 age division since 1997/98 when the competition was called the Primary Shield.
Coach Gerard Guthrie was on hand with some on the players at the Sports Foundation Awards Dinner earlier this month.
Accepting the award from W league soccer star Nicole Begg, Guthrie said “I am still that proud of the effort of the boys”.
“They really performed well as a team and that is what got them through,” Guthrie said.
Most of the team continued to play at club and representative level this last junior cricket season.
