Wedding celebrant helping farming couples make it official

But Annie also understands just how difficult it can be sometimes, especially for young couples living in isolated communities.

Which is why in 2015 Ms Scott decided to become a Commonwealth Registered civil marriage celebrant and help couples, especially young farming couples, make it official.

She grew up on the family farm near Cootamundra in southern NSW and currently works in Sydney in the GrainCorp head office.

Although she is relatively new to the celebrant business, Ms Scott has already received many bookings for weddings for couples in the Nyngan, Dubbo, Warren and Yass areas.

“I had an itch to start a small business on the side and do something creative that involves people and travel,” she said.

“I hold down a full-time job at GrainCorp head office in Sydney which I love but I was looking for something else to fulfill me.”

Having been to a few weddings with celebrants, she realised this was something she could do too.

“Marry Me Annie is my creative outlet and I wanted to do something that I could do in both the city and the country,” she said.

“Weddings are such a happy time.

“I love hearing the love story of a new couple how they met, the proposal etcetera.

“I love creating a ceremony that reflects this.”

Ms Scott said she understands just how expensive some celebrants in metropolitan areas can be.

That is why she wanted to make her services affordable.

“I know just how much some celebrants charge for their services. I’d like to see my services as affordable,” she said.

Ms Scott hopes by getting her story to the public’s attention, she will be able to fulfill the dreams of young farming couples wanting to get married.
