The event is being hosted by Emma Jones of Miss Em’s Drama School as a fundraiser to get drama school Nida to Cootamundra and for the Arts Centre, but also as a way to play cupid.
Happily in a relationship herself, Emma wants to see others just as happy and is encouraging people to step outside of their comfort zone to find that special someone.
The event will be held at the Arts Centre and is for those aged 18 and over and genuinely looking for love.
“I love fundraising and wanted to think outside the square,” Emma said.
She said Cootamundra has not had a Singles Night in recent memory and it will be an opportunity for people to have fun for a good cause and maybe meet some new people.
There will be speed dating in age groups, ice breaking games and trivia to get the ball rolling with plenty of time for natural conversation thrown in.
Prompter questions will be on the table as well as on the walls during the speed dating so no-one will be stuck for conversation.
No stone has been left un-turned to ensure the evening is as pressure-free for participants as possible.
Canapes will be served throughout the night and cocktails will be available with Emma promoting a classy atmosphere.
At the end of the night, people will have the option of providing their telephone number to Emma for exchange with anyone who caught their fancy if the other person has also nominated them for a number exchange.
Everything will be handled with the utmost discretion so no-one is left feeling awkward, with Emma also keeping her guest list a closely guarded secret until the night.
Already, Emma has had a good response from locals, however with more women than men having signed up, she is calling on Cootamundra’s eligible bachelors to not be shy and put themselves on the line to find love.
Plenty of out-of-town people have also put their name down with Harden, Junee, Wagga and Young all to be represented.
She told the Cootamundra Herald she knows a night at the pub is not for everyone; people have responsibilities including children and for others it is just not their scene, however everyone deserves the chance to fall in love.
Cost is $55 including all food, your first cocktail for the night and entry.
