Adam Barnes moved to Cootamundra when he was 12, his wife Hayley was born here and the couple now have two small children.
They need help and are extending a question to Cootamundra to fulfill the call for assistance; although this couple is not asking for a handout.
They are offering an opportunity to win a car or enjoy a concert.
They want the community to enjoy themselves while supporting fundraising efforts for Adam.
Adam was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) six years ago and needs $100,000 to get to Russia for treatment.
The couple have researched their options and Russia is their best option at present.
It is easy for any young family in Cootamundra to put themselves in the shoes of the Barnes family.
They are starting out in life together and should have the brightest of futures.
If they can stall or reverse Adam’s symptoms of MS they stand the best chance of having this bright future.
The amazing treatment available in Russia is an option which worked for former Cootamundra resident Amanda Norman, the daughter of Sally Lawler who still lives in Cootamundra.
The community here in town and Amanda’s hometown of Wagga came together to support Amanda and raise the funds she needed to get to Russia and the Barnes family now need the same support.
The good people of Cootamundra have also shown their willingness to happily and proudly open their hearts and wallets for other local residents in need including ‘Goals for Jai’ for Jai Godbier, ‘Bat for Joe’ for Joe Roberts, ‘Live like Lui’ for the Polimeni family and the ‘Ride for Chels’ supporting Chelsea Thompson.
If you can help the Barnes family by making a donation or are hosting a fundraiser to get Adam to Russia please note the following details:
