BRIDGE
MONDAY bridge had their Christmas party with 18 enjoying fun and friendship with their Christmas dinner and proceeded to play a five table Mitchell. Santa (Jenny) made sure every player received a gift and treats on the tables. After round one Christmas pudding and custard was the go and then back to bridge till supper time when our delicious cake was cut. Ruth McCarthy made the cake before jetting out to Hong Kong on holiday. The results of play in the north/south field were Loo Manning & Jenny McAinsh first, 57.50, 2nd Judith Harris & David Hill, 55.63, 3rd Sally Lawler & Jeanette Howse, 55, 4th Frank Davidson & Kathy Rolfe 50, followed by Carol East & Jane Storey. On the east/west side Lee Furness& Bob Laing were 1st on 55, 2nd Judy Balnaves & Mary Last, 53.13, 3rd Barb Beveridge & Wendy Jenkins, 4th Margot Gill & Robbie Bassingthwaighte and 5th was Julie Jenkins & Marcia Sikimeti.

Tuesday bridge played a nine table Mitchell movement. In the north/south field winners were Caroline Hermes & Heather Last, 60.42, 2nd Mary Last & Marcia Sikimeti, 57.41, 3rd Annette Hume & Jennifer Kozman, 53.47, 4th was Annie MacMaster & Barb Beveridge, 51.85. On the east/west side in first Lyn Ramsay & Sally Lawler, 71.06, 2nd Sue Lenehan & Kate Graham, 58.60, 3rd was Helen Martin and Jill Graham, 52.08. Next Tuesday this session will enjoy their Christmas festivities following morning play.
VIEW CLUB
THE Day VIEW Club met for the monthly luncheon meeting on December 1 at the Country Club, enjoying a “Santa” theme for Christmas celebrations.
We had guests from Tumut, Canberra and Cootamundra and enjoyed a traditional Christmas lunch.
The delicious Christmas cake was cut by guest PNVP Jillian Smith and local member Marjorie Smith. Everyone received a gift from the lucky door prize draw.
Our Christmas raffles were drawn with the winners Audrey Taber, Trevor O’Toole, Annette Power, Pam Elliot, David McAinsh, Ann Breeze and David McAinsh. Funds raised are for sponsorship of our three Learning for Life Students.
We had a trading table with lots of wonderful Christmas fare cooked by our members.The energetic entertainment was the children from Cootamundra Public School who danced for us.
We are always looking for new members so come along and enjoy the fun and friendship with interesting guest speakers and a delicious lunch. The next meeting is February 2 at 11.30am for noon start at the Country Club and subs of $15 will be due. Call 0408 475 411 if you would like to come along.
