Tickets for the May 27 event have already been selling fast with event organiser Bob Scott stating businesses and individuals alike have been keen to show their support for the former Cootamundra resident.
“We did a really successful lamb drive back in March which raised about $12,500 and we’ve done a grain drive as well,” Mr Scott said.
“We’re also going around to local businesses looking for sponsors to buy in for a keg and support the ball that way.”
Sponsored by the Cootamundra Rugby Club and a host of other local businesses, the event is raising funds to support former Tricolours player Wal Hazlett as he undergoes spinal therapy to recover from a terrible accident suffered July last year.
