Middle-order batsmen Isaac Mitchell starred for the visitors, crunching a 40-ball century* including 12 fours and eight towering sixes to steer his side out of trouble and into the winners’ circle.
The ‘Corns won the toss and elected to bat, posting a reasonable 178 before being bowled out in the 32nd over, Adam Block the top-scorer with 29.
In response, Stockinbingal found themselves on shaky ground in the 7th over after losing 3-31 but were bolstered by Mitchell’s arrival at the crease.
Another wicket fell in the 11th over before the big-hitter set about driving the Stock resurgence with a brutal array of strokes.
Mitchell took the score from 4-41 to 4-135 before notching his maiden century with a 20-run over after drinks.
The Stockinbingal local’s knock including 47 runs from two overs off a ‘Corns bowler and came with 96 runs in boundaries.
Match officials said post-game that some of the sixes went out of Nixon Park into the backyards of houses over the road and into the adjacent netball courts.
The knock was enough to ensure Stockinbingal cruised home, finishing up at 6/186.
